Arrangements are underway to install plasma TV screens at mosques across the United Arab Emirates. The measure is being taken to display Friday sermons to worshippers sitting in back rows, upper floors of the mosque and outside the mosque courtyard. With TV screens in place, all devotees will be able to see the orator and hear his sermon clearly.

The project is being undertaken by GAIAA – General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Auqaf and is in line with the President’s plan to develop mosques keeping in mind the comfort of worshippers. Also in the pipeline is the renovation of mosque washrooms. These services will be air-conditioned and complete with modern add-ons like water coolers, toilet papers, soaps and clothes hangers.

The steps will change the face of mosques in UAE for now and for ever.
