UAE has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT) at Abu Dhabi, and California University’s Cosmology Centre in a bid to come up with a mega research and training complex. The Plaza of Intelligence and Innovation City will come up in 2015 and serve the fields of science as well as humanities.

The mega complex has drawn inspiration from Bayt Al Hikma – The House of Wisdom – a 9th century Arab science centre which was destroyed by the Mongols in 1258.
