Now civil and commercial courts in Abu Dhabi will have an evening shift for those who are not able to take time out during daytime due to busy schedules. The evening shift will be held between 6 pm and 9 pm from Monday, June 16, 2008.

The arrangement has been made in order to meet the needs of public in general and the litigants in particular. The Judicial Department in the emirate of Abu Dhabi has announced that the evening courts will provide complete legal and judicial services. With this, litigants will be able to get civil and commercial courts have a look into their cases in the evening and decide on the ones that need swifter hearings.

In addition to the afore-mentioned services, the evening courts will also provide attestation of documents and acquiring court rulings. The evening shift of courts will help people save on precious working hours.

Abu Dhabi will be the first of the emirates to have come up with night courts. The move has been in the spirit of good government wherein accessible services hold the paramount importance. 

The emirate had also unveiled specialized courts for handling investment and securities-related cases, and industrial disputes last month. That move was also hailed to be the first of its kind step in the region.
