Dubai Ladies Master is a professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour. Popularly known as Omega Dubai Ladies Masters also, the tournament was played for the very first time in October 2006. After Evian Masters, Ladies Masters stands on the fourth richest scale due to its prize fund of €500,000. Majlis course at the Emirates Golf Club is the proud host of the tournament which also hosts the Dubai Desert Classic on the men’s European Tour.
Annika Sorenstam won the event the first two times it was played. Sörenstam beat out Karrie Webb in 2006, and in 2007 defeated Iben Tinning by two shots after Sörenstam birdied 17 and Tinning double-bogeyed the 18th. The 2008 event, which was Sörenstam’s final tournament before her retirement, was won by Anja Monke from Germany.

Mariah Hjorth hit 6-under 66 in the first round of the Dubai Ladies Masters followed by Michelle Wie who was three strokes behind. Hjorth achieved three birdies, one eagle, and one bogey at the Emirates Golf Club.
Titiya Plucksataporn, Amy Yang and Julieta Granada all shot 68 and tied for second place behind Hjorth. A further stroke behind, and tied with Wie, were Minea Blomqvist and Virginie Lagoutte-Clement.
