Asia’s leading and Singapore’s largest award-winning international school, Global Indian International School is now open for the first time in Dubai. The school will open its doors in April 2010 when the new academic session will start.

Dubai Government will establish a center to enhance awareness among the people of the emirate regarding their human rights.

The rights education center, popularly known as The Dubai Human Rights Village will open its doors in 2010. The Director of Human Trafficking Crimes Monitoring Centre in Dubai, Dr Sultan Al Jamal commented that the awareness among the citizens concerning the human rights was deadly lacking. They were hardly aware that what their rights are and what do they mean in life. The articles constituting the Declaration of International Human Rights are unknown to most of the people.

The centre will be bifurcated into 5 domes which will introduce the human rights to the visitors. The public will be able to easily steer and enquire for the protection laws as well as the services of the government.

The domes will aim at the rights related to birth, food and water, health, education and culture. Each area will comprise of classrooms to hold lectures and workshops. There will be a channel room which will encourage discussions on the issues of key human rights. The location of the center, as told by Al Jamal, is still to be planned and will be fixed by next month.

According to the belief of the residents, though the government has taken many measures to prevent human rights over the last few years, the awareness is still lagging far behind among the major masses. Al Jamal told that the UAE has been successful in managing the assurance of the protection of most of the human rights and its human trafficking initiatives have become an example for other Arab countries. The UAE has also gathered praise by UN officials crediting it for the progress in protecting the child rights.

Al Jamal also said, “The contents in the universal declaration of human rights must be taught as a subject in schools. Along with education, one must be able to take action for change. People have to be brave and fight for their rights.”

Global Village in Dubai

Global Village is serving as a milestone to the festive season which started on 22^nd November 2009 and will go on until 27^nd February 2010. Dubai Ladies Masters in December 2009

Dubai Ladies Master is a professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour. Popularly known as Omega Dubai Ladies Masters also, the tournament was played for the very first time in October 2006. After Evian Masters, Ladies Masters stands on the fourth richest scale due to its prize fund of €500,000. Majlis course at the Emirates Golf Club is the proud host of the tournament which also hosts the Dubai Desert Classic on the men’s European Tour.

Annika Sorenstam won the event the first two times it was played. Sörenstam beat out Karrie Webb in 2006, and in 2007 defeated Iben Tinning by two shots after Sörenstam birdied 17 and Tinning double-bogeyed the 18th. The 2008 event, which was Sörenstam’s final tournament before her retirement, was won by Anja Monke from Germany.

Mariah Hjorth hit 6-under 66 in the first round of the Dubai Ladies Masters followed by Michelle Wie who was three strokes behind. Hjorth achieved three birdies, one eagle, and one bogey at the Emirates Golf Club.

The American vocal group, Backstreet Boys is a proud achiever of Grammy nomination. The boys’ talent was launched by the producer Lou Pearlman. They have been together for the past 16 years, since 1993. Sold over 100 million albums throughout the world, Backstreet Boys possess 14 Top 40 hits proudly placed on the Bill board Hot 100. This makes them the artists to be one of the biggest selling ones and also the best selling boys group. Golf Championship in Dubai

The Dubai World Championship is a play-off for golf being held for the very first time on the European Tour. The championship started on 19^th November and went on till 22^nd November 2009. It was organized on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, UAE.
